NPAC Endorses Artists Corps: The final session of the 2008 National Performing Arts Convention in Denver ratifies the Artist Corps and commits participating organizations and thousands of artists to support its development. At the beginning of the convention, participants were asked to work together to design the future of “the Arts” America. On the final day, all of the participating organizations and thousands of artists voted on the best ideas. The following commitment was made:
“Enlist artists are full partners in all aspects of arts education through
training and creating an AmeriCorps/WPA-type program.”
